Coming Home Soon, A Tale Within, and Break Free form a triptych of short films confronting the realities of human trafficking. From the lure of false promises, to the inner turmoil of captivity, and finally the desperate fight for freedom, the series traces the hidden journeys of those ensnared by exploitation. Together, they shed light on resilience in the face of despair and the urgent need to break the silence surrounding trafficking.

TIP the Narrative, Project Liber8, September 2023 Chapter 3: Break Free (3/3) 🎬
The final chapter. Also the last stretch of our filmmaking marathon for this project. Safe to say, we were physically beaten by this point. 🫠
Even though the shoot still took just one day,
we tried to capture the many fleeting moments of our protagonist’s journey toward breaking free
(Read: many costume and set changes). From her past. From the trauma. From herself.
In her room, she eats and showers, she walks around, she plays her online persona,
and quietly traps herself inside this tiny world of her own.
As the final piece of the trilogy, we allowed her a brighter ending. She steps back out into the world again, embracing her unapologetic freedom.
